Will my service from Nordic be reliable?
Nordic uses several methods to ensure customers receive
reliable power supplies. First, we contract for the same
level of service as you currently receive today. Second,
Nordic contracts for firm transportation service on all
electrical systems that move our power. Firm service means
that our transactions cannot be interrupted, short of a
breakdown in the operation of the electric systems. Finally,
we contract for firm power supplies with large wholesale
suppliers that hold rights to diverse generation resources.
This means that we don't rely on one or two generating plants
to support our load and that our suppliers have the means
and the obligation to serve us (and our customers) under
most circumstances.

Who will bill me for my electricity
?
Nordic
will send a bill directly to you for our portion of your
electric bill. Our portion includes electric generation
and transmission services, and should cover about 80% or
more of your total power costs. If you wish, we can also
consolidate your local utility's bill , so that you only
receive one invoice and you only need to write one check.
If you operate multiple facilities, we can aggregate all
locations served or not served onto one bill.

What happens if I lose power or
have service problems?
Your
local utility is still responsible for maintaining the poles,
wires, transformers, and other distribution equipment that
is necessary for delivering power to you. Therefore, your
primary contact for all service problems will still be the
local utility. If you cannot obtain an adequate response
from the utility, contact Nordic and we will be pleased
to help you expedite the service request.

Will the level of service be reduced
because I have switched suppliers?
Local
utilities are still responsible for providing safe and reliable
electric distribution service. By law, they are required
to maintain a sound electrical system. They are by no means
allowed to discriminate against customers exercising choice
in power suppliers, and continued oversight by state public
utilities authorities will ensure that they adhere to their
responsibilities. Additionally, the utilities may want to
sell you other products and services, thereby having an
incentive not to jeopardize those opportunities.

When can I expect to begin saving?
This
answer depends mostly on your locations and the time of
year. It will take about 60 to 120 days for Nordic to coordinate
all the actions required by the utilities and our power
supplier to start your service. Note, however, that it is
very difficult to start electricity service during the peak
summer months of June, July, and August. This is due to
the extremely high electric demand associated with these
months. If you sign a contract after April, it is possible
that your service start date with Nordic Marketing may be
delayed until September or October.

Are there extra costs associated
with purchasing power competitively?
In
Michigan, you may need to install and maintain a regular
phone line for meter reading purposes. This is a requirement
of the local utility companies, and the determination for
this requirement is made on a case-by-case basis. Also,
depending on your credit quality, Nordic may require a deposit
or partial prepayment for our services.

How
long are my prices guaranteed?
Nordic typically enters into one, two or three-year contracts
with its customers. This guarantees customers fixed prices,
terms, and conditions, throughout the life of the contract.
Nordic may also consider longer-term arrangements, depending
on a customer's needs and characteristics.
